Brennan Gonzalez, 6, St. John, rides on an inverted bucket while his dad, Guy Gonzalez, directs one of the teams in the weekend’s plowing bee next to the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds. Cody Erickson was also on the plow for the team which was made up of horses owned by Louis Gaiser and Stan Riebold of St. John. Approximately 60 head of horses and mules took part in the plowing bee. They were brought to the site by teamsters from all over the area. The teams managed to get most of the 15 acres plowed and seeded with spring wheat although the center part of the field proved to be too wet even for the horses.
