CHS band competes at Pasco

Members of the Colfax High School Jazz band opened their competition season Saturday morning by playing their set under the direction of Mike Morgan at Columbia Basin College’s Jazz Unlimited. Senior Kim Heiner, at right, performs the band’s ballad solo to “Georgia on My Mind”. and Kellen Morgan, the band’s other senior, keeps time on the drums. Sophomore Hannah Knaack, left, played a short alto sax solo in the band’s opening number. The band performed at Monday’s concert in Colfax and will compete at Mt. Hood in two weeks.
