Janice L. Allen
A memorial service for Janice L. Allen, 66, will be Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at the Princeton Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating. Mrs. Allen died of cancer Sunday morning at her rural Potlatch home from cancer.
Cremation preceded the service.
Born Nov. 21, 1944, at Moscow to George and DeEtte Jones McCleerey, she attended Potlatch Schools and married James Allen Aug. 27, 1960, at Princeton. The couple made their home at Potlatch. A homemaker for most of her adult life, she worked for Floyd’s Excel and Harvest Foods at Potlatch from 1981 to 2010 when health reasons forced her to retire. She enjoyed sewing, woodworking and raising flowers.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Allen, at the Potlatch home, one son, Brady (Liz) Allen, Potlatch; two daughters, Debbie (Don) Holbrook, Palouse; Teresa (Craig) Strong, Kennewick; four sisters, Joyce Gilmore, Harvard; Joanne Hemmelman, Princeton; Jean Posey, Potlatch; Judy Roberts, Colfax; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial gifts may go to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, or to the Family Home Care & Hospice, 610 N.E. Eastgate Blvd., #850, Pullman, 99163.
