The Athenaeum Club members and guests met Friday, April 15, at the Colfax library branch for their annual guest day with President Mae Schultz presiding.

Colfax High School poetry contest winners recited their poems and received their awards from Dana Carroll, committee chair.

Teachers Margaret Vaughan and Staci Barden assisted.

Ken Hathaway, formerly of WSU and a master gardener, gave the program. He brought along three pots that volunteers prepared and planted with his guidance. A question and answer period followed. The pots were awarded as door prizes.

The yearbook committee comprised of Mae Schultz, Janice McKay, Maxine Lange and Pat Zuger served refreshments. Cherry Alice Van Tine is also on this committee.
