Eagles, Vikings win SE round at cold Colfax meet

The Vikings won the event. The girls from the SJEL combo stacked 86 points for a big win in a four team SE meet on another cold day last Wednesday on Schmuck Park track at Colfax. The Eagles finished 26 points ahead of Garfield/Palouse/Colton.

Winners for the red/blue club were Jade Porubeck in the 400, Millie Schorn in the 800, Sami Bailey in the 1600, Heather Siegel in the 3200, and two relay teams, the 4 X 200 And 4 X 400.

Annie Bailey took the javelin, and Jessica Hardy won the long jump.

Casey Roosma of Walla Walla Valley Academy topped the individual effort for the girls with wins in both sprints and both hurdles events.

The Vikings posted wins with their 4 X 100 relay team, Missy Johnson in the discus, Cassie Thompson in the high jump, and Emma Aikin in the triple.

Viking boys rolled out 77 points with Jeff Kent winning both sprints and the pole vault and Chad Redman again taking the hurdle events. Redman and Caleb Simon of SJEL battled in the 110 hurdles with Redmond taking a .03 edge.

Derrick Bosch won both weight events for the Vikes, and Anthony Flood topped Bosch in the javelin.

Simon won the long jump for the Eagles, and Chris Wargo won the high jump.
