TOR team wins 4 more games

Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia boys moved their record to 9-2 Tuesday after taking two wins over Colton in a 1B-2B clash on the Rosalia field. The double win Tuesday followed a double at Prescott Saturday to advance the TOR record to 9-2 on the season.

Other action Tuesday saw the SJE Eagles book a split at Odessa and the GP Vikings bow to Potlatch in a non-leaguer on the Loggers’ field.

TOR Tuesday topped Colton 14-4 and 12-9 at Rosalia. The hosts scored five runs in the first inning and finished with 10 hits.

D.J. Brown started for TOR and Joe Tampien finished in the sixth inning.

The Wildcats had eight hits in the first game with Jake Straughan getting three of them.

Brown, Lance Lindgren, Justin Hereford, and Tom Carothers each had two hits for the Spartans. Tampien homered.

In the second game, the Wildcats opened with four runs in the first inning, and held the lead until the fourth when TOR stacked five runs.

Peyton Boxleitner started for TOR. Justin Meyer started on the mound for Colton, and Jake Straughan finished.

Carothers had two of the nine TOR hits and Brown added a double. Josh Straughan had four of the Colton hits, and Jake Straughan added two hits with a double for a total of six on the day.

Seven errors hurt Colton in the second game.

Potlatch pounded the Vikings 14-4 in the non-leaguer. The Loggers and Vikings were tied at 3-3 before the hosts scored a big nine for the breakout.

Viking Blake Slocum had two hits with a double.

The SJE Eagles bowed 5-6 to Odessa/Harrington in the first game Tuesday, and came back for a 6-4 win in the second game.

The first game went into extra innings with OH getting the decider in the bottom of the eighth.

Mason Van Lith, Kyle Raynor and Evan Raynor pitched for the Eagles in the first game, and Cole McCanna had two doubles.

The Eagles took the second game 6-4 with a charge over the last three innings.

Bryce Bennett and Van Lith limited OH to three hits, and Vin Lith topped SJE’s six hits with a triple.

Saturday, TOR took two SE wins over the Cardinals at Prescott, 13-2 and 6-2. Flash Hodges pitched a seven-hitter to win the first game while the Spartan bats totaled 17 hits. Lance Lindgren had two doubles.

Will Dedic served a two-hitter on the Cardinals to win the second game for the 6-2 win. TOR had six hits in the second game with Lindgren tagging another double.

St. John/Endicott Saturday defeated Pomeroy in two games of SE 1B action. The Eagles nudged the Pirates 10-7 in the first game at Pomeroy. They scored four runs in the first inning, but Pomeroy came back to tie it at 6-6 after four innings. A three-run fifth for the Eagles decided it.

SJE used four pitchers in the first game, and each side totaled eight hits. Catcher Cole McCanna doubled and tripled, and Mason Van Lith and Sam Raynor added doubles.

In the second game, the Eagles pegged a 15-6 win with Kyle, Evan and Samuel Raynor all pitching.

The Eagles had a 9-4 lead after three frames and capped it with a four-run charge in the top of the seventh.

Evan Raynor had three hits with a double and McCanna picked up a triple.

Pomeroy booked five errors in the first game and 12 in the second.
