Colton and Touchet rolled up heavy wins in twin bills Saturday in SE softball action. The Wildcats shut out SJE in two short games at St. John, and Touchet turned back the Viking girls two rounds at Touchet.
Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia and Dayton split in another Saturday double at Dayton.
Colton Saturday blanked SJE 13-0 and 19-0 on the Eagles’ turf at St. John Colton rolled up 14 hits in the first game, and 17 hits in the second game.
Taylor Nilson threw a one-hitter at the Eagles in the second game. She struck out 11 Eagles and walked just six.
Colton Catcher Mollie Kramer claimed a hit-for-the-cycle day over the two five-inning games. Kramer had two homers for the day.
Lacey Rice had two hits for the Eagles in the first game.
Tallan Smith started in the first game, and Gretchen Van Lith pitched for the Eagles in the second game. Van Lith had the lone hit off Nilson.
Colton Tuesday downed Asotin 13-6 after staking 11 runs in the first three innings. The Wildcats had 11 hits off the Panther pitchers.
Nilson alowed nine hits in taking the win. Kramer had three hits with a double, and Nilson, Jenna Moser and Grace Druffel each had two hits.
At Touchet Saturday, the chiefs dropped the Vikings 8-1 and 15-5. The pair of wins puts the Indians record at 2-1 in league play behind the 5-0 league mark posted to dated by Colton.
The Vikings had just two hits in the first game and three hits in the second game.
Touchet pegged a 5-3 lead after three innings in the second game and then erupted for five runs each in the next two innings to peg the 10-run rule after five frames.
Garfield/Palouse Friday pegged a 9-8 win over Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia in a makeup game with a five-run charge in the sixth inning.
The two county clubs went 0-0 in the seventh inning, and TOR scored a run in the top of the extra eighth to take the lead. The Vikes came back to score two runs with Sara Wilson rapping the first RBI, and Mickaila Martin getting a triple to score Wilson for the game winners.
Emily Witthuhn started for GP, and Chandler Pfaff booked the win.
TOR took the loss despite out-hitting the Vikes 12-5.
Saturday, Tekoa/Oakesdale booked 10 hits and edged Dayton 7-6 in the first game. Briann Maley threw a seven-hitter for the win.
The second round was a slugfest with TOR booking 15 hits, and Dayton booking 17. The Bulldogs, who led 11-4 after three frames, took the 14-11 win after surviving a five-run charge by the ‘hawks in the top of the sixth.
