Chest carving victim accused of stabbing son

Debra A. Lowry, the 46-year-old victim of a major domestic violence case in March, was booked into Whitman County jail Monday morning on a Pullman charge of felony assault with a syringe.

Pullman police found Lowry in the trunk of a vehicle Saturday after being called to investigate the alleged assault Friday night.

The arrest report alleges Lowry stabbed her 21-year-old son at a home on Johnson Avenue with a syringe which was believed to have been loaded with blood. The needle of the syringe broke off in the victim’s right arm.

The assault was said to have evolved from a family dispute. It was reported to police by the alleged victim’s brother.

The man did not need medical treatment. Lowry was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital to undergo an evaluation before being brought to the jail here.

Lowry is the alleged victim in the March 29 arrest of Nathaniel B. Simon II, 54, of Albion. Among other charges, deputies alleged Simon scribed “Do Not Resuscitate” in Lowry’s chest.
