Bulldogs run to 12-0 between rain delays

Late debut for new scoreboard Colfax baseball fans last Wednesday finally got to see the Bulldogs' new scoreboard in action at McDonald Park. After being bumped by rain delays, the home season finally launched with the Davenport Gorillas as guests. Colfax senior Tyler McNannay is pitching here against the Gorillas in the second game. Colfax won twice on shutouts.

Colfax baseball again sustained a one-day setback Tuesday when too much rain, including an outbreak just before gametime, erased a double date with Northwest Christian.

The two games were moved back to Wednesday.

Colfax now stands at 12-0 in the league after taking a pair from Davenport last Wednesday.

Those two games were the first Colfax has been able to play on the McDonald Park field during the rain delayed spring.

Coach Mike Parrish figures the Bulldogs will have to bank about two more wins before they claim “out of reach status” in the NE race.

Springdale is now in the number two slot with three losses, and Northwest has four losses.

After Wednesday’s rounds with NWC, Colfax still has to make up the Springdale games, possibly Friday and Saturday.

Colfax baseball players took both sides of the double with Davenport last Wednesday.

Bulldog pitchers JJ Robinson and Tyler McNannay each shut out the Gorillas in both games.

Robinson held Davenport to three hits for a 9-0 win in the first game, and McNannay pitched a 2 hitter to win the second game 3-0.

Colfax had 11 hits in the first game and put the win in the bag with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Robinson rapped three doubles to help his own cause.

McNannay had two hits with a double, and Brandon Heiser added two hits.

McNannay booked the win after pitching in and out of trouble all day.

Colfax had eight hits in the second game with Robinson and Alex Teade each tagging two.

Asotin, the only team to defeat Colfax, booked a repeat Thursday with a 7-5 win on an eight-hit attack.

at McDonald.

Dusty Lyons started for the Panthers and Jackson Webb relieved him in the fifth.

Colfax had a 4-3 lead after three frames, but the Panthers took control with two runs in each on the next two innings.

Alex Teade started for Colfax, and Brady Ellis relieved him in the sixth.

Grant Parson singled and doubled to lead Asotin’s eight hits.

Avery Hurst had two hits.

Kellen Morgan topped the six-hit Colfax offense with a homer, and Ellis tagged a double.

Heiser, Robinson, McNannay and Teade also had hits.
