Whitman County Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, May 17 at 4 p.m. in the Colfax Library. These meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.

Youths in grades 1-4 are invited to “Lets Game” on Thursday, May 19 from 3:30- 4:30 at the Colfax Library. Kids may ride bus #5 with a note from parent to enjoy stories, crafts, games and more. Need help downloading books from the library’s website? Come in and get some one-on-one help with downloading and transferring audio books to your mp3 or iPod Friday, May 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Colfax Library.

Whitman County Library has recently added “My Parents Were Awesome” by Eliot Glazer. Based on the popular website, the book shares heartwarming and hilarious essays by sons and daughters who tell tales of their folks accompanied by vintage photographs.

“Cinderella Ate My Daughter” by Peggy Orenstein discusses the increase of Girl Power in the 1990s and today, and how the pursuit of physical perfection has been recast as a source of female empowerment. Peggy Orenstein is an award-winning writer and speaker on issues affecting girls and women.
