Radiology Department upgrades
Whitman Hospital Radiology Department this past year has been working to improve and expand the services it provides. In fact, it is hard to keep up with all of the improvements this department has made in just 12 short months!
Because only a well staffed department can provide the coverage needed to offer outstanding care to our patients, the department now boasts a full compliment of staff, including as-needed technologists to fill in for vacation and sick days.
The radiology team, led by manager Scott Nelson (MRI, CT, x-ray), is comprised of Carolyn Wilson (lead mammography technologist, x-ray, CT), Jan Eberle (mammography, CT, x-ray), Daniel Wood (CT, x-ray), Leah Hyman (mammography, CT, x-ray), Ashley Enger (lead ultrasound technologist), Jean Taylor (office professional), Lauri Whitaker (ultrasound), Justin Arbury (CT, x-ray), Nicole Bezdicek (CT, x-ray), Janae St. John (x-ray), Angela Purdy (x-ray), and Janiene Rise (mammography).
In anticipation of future staffing needs, Radiology has also been working in conjunction with Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston and Carrington College in Spokane, offering radiology students a unique opportunity to work and train at our facility.
Members of the radiology team are knowledgeable, well trained, experienced, and ready to offer our patients the best diagnostic resources available. That being said, they also know the importance of personalized individual care. They now offer breakfast/lunch coupons for patients who are required to fast prior to their exams. The department also recently purchased a blanket warmer to assist in patient comfort, keeping pre-warmed blankets on-hand to keep patients warm and cozy during exams.
Imaging Services play a vital role in the diagnostic evaluation of our patients, and Nelson and his team have been tireless in their efforts this past year to make the Radiology Department the best that it can be.
