State FFA delegates elect Kyle Largent secretary

Colfax FFA members competed in five different career development events, attended workshops and sessions, over the three day state FFA convention in Pullman.

Kyle Largent, son of Brian and Debbie Largent, was elected Washington State FFA Secretary for 2011-12. He will spend the next year promoting Washington State FFA and agriculture with the rest of the state officer team.

He is Colfax FFA’s third state officer since 2000. Shane Riebold served as sentinel 2009-2010, and Abbie Kammerzell Demeerleer served as state vice president 1999-2000. She was also a national vice president the following years.

Pullman’s Hannah Nelson was elected state treasurer.

Largent also placed third in the prepared public speaking competition. Hannah Knaack placed eighth in the event.

Colfax rituals team placed second. Members were Bailey Mackleit, Katie Largent, Jacee Thompson, Kurt Moore, Bryn Buck and Ben Stuckle.

The Forestry Agriculture Resource Management team, Reagan Lowe, Lindsay Webber, Alex Boyd and Emma Gingerich, placed third.

Katie Largent competed in the creed competition, and Webber and Deanna Aeschliman competed in the mob interview event.
