The Dusty Cemetery work day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, beginning at 8 a.m. Workers are asked to bring shovels, rakes and weed eaters. A meeting will follow the work time.
Word has been received of the passing of Shannon Caldwell Rhodes last Saturday at her winter home in Arizona. Rhodes was the daughter of the late Clarence and Doris Caldwell of Union Flat. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1959. She also had a home in Coeur d’ Alene. She is survived by husband Ken and two daughters. Services are pending. Rhodes was one of the bellweather cases of the Hanford Downwinders.
Susan and Joe Lunch celebrated Mother’s Day by taking Helen and Dick Appel fishing at Fishtrap. Some very nice fish came home with them. Recently, Helen’s college roommate and her husband, Jan and Doug Shaul of Yacolt, were luncheon guests of the Appels. Jan was attending her WSU 50th class reunion.
Bill and Bonnie Angleton of Burns, Ore., spent several days visiting her sister, Carol Kyllo.
Dusty B.B. Club’s annual guest day luncheon was last Wednesday at the Jones Schoolhouse, now situated on the Palouse Empire Fairground. Approximately 30 members and guests attended. Dave Appel presented a program on the history of schools in Whitman County.
Kurt Moore, son of Steve and Carol Moore, attended the state FFA convention in Pullman last Thursday through Saturday. He was a member of the Colfax rituals team competing in conducting meetings using parliamentary procedures. Their team placed second in the state.
Thursday the annual Dusty Farm Co-op meeting was at the Dusty Gun Club. Gary Luft and Kent Monson were re-elected to the board. The dinner was catered by Endicott Food Center.
Mark Vogler flew to Los Angeles over the weekend to see his nephew, Devin Campbell, son of the late Joyce Vogler Campbell, graduate from Loyola Law School. Devin’s aunts Charleen Vogler Wilde and Delores Vogler Argast also attended. Campbell’s ambition is to become a prosecuting attorney in California.
Sunday, May 22, Graham Stanley Reddig, infant son of Kurt and Jill Reddig, will be baptized in the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Davenport.
