Twenty-nine NE golfers went back to Deer Park Wednesday to compete for 17 slots assigned to District 7 for state 2B golfing finals. The 29 qualified last Wednesday for the sub-district round, also at Deer Park.

Paige Mackleit last Wednesday hit a hole-in-one at the sub-district eliminations. She hit the ace on the 96-yard number-eight hole, which includes a water hazard. Mackleit finished with a 104 to qualify for the district round this week.

Kyle Johnson of Colfax tied Dakota Berg of Wilbur-Creston for medalist honors with a 77, and Tyler Stevenson carded an 80 to place third.

Bryce Kramlich scored a 96, and Corey Maltone a 99 to also finish under the cut for district qualification. Ryan Christopher hit a 102 and Dalton McNeilly a 130.

Alex Boyd finished with a 153 to qualify as an alternate for the girls.

State finals will be next week, May 24-25 at Meadow Park near Tacoma.
