Fate of the three county softball teams will be decided today at Clarkston where the playoff rounds landed after being rained out of Coflax Tuesday. Colton, the top SE team, will play St. John/Endicott and the GP Vikings, number-three, will play Touchet.
Winners will play a seeding game to determine slots for the regional round Saturday at Medical Lake High School.
The two SE survivors will mix it up with four qualifiers from the NE at Medical Lake. On the line will be four tickets to the state finals next weekend at Yakima.
Tekoa/Oakesdale’s season came to an end Tuesday at Asotin when the Panthers notched a 4-3 elimination win with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Panther Mickenzie Mullins was credited with knocking in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. The fly scored Cheyane Nelson who had the tie-making RBI.
Asotin had a 2-0 lead after their first game, but the Nighthawks came back to tie the game in the fifth and take a 3-2 lead with another score in the top of the sixth.
Briann Maley took the loss after holding the Panthers to just four hits.
Maria Haxton and Kristin Paulson each had two of the eight TOR hits.
Waitsburg/Presc-ott leads the four 2B survivors into the last SE rounds at TRAC in Pasco. Friday when two state tickets will be on the line for the SE.
