Erickson gets scholarship

Abby Erickson of Colfax has been awarded $3,000 through the Trustees fund for the 2011-12 academic year at Eastern Washington University. The award recognizes a student who maintains a grade average over 3.8 and is a continuing EWU student. A 2009 graduated of Colfax High School where she participated in volleyball, basketball, softball and the National Honors Society. She is the daughter of Robin and Leif Erickson of Colfax. She is majorying in psychology.

Kuhn earns EWU award

Danielle Kuhn, daughter of Colleen and Darrell Kuhn of Rosalia and a 2008 graduate of Rosalia High School, has been awarded $3,000 through the Trustees fund for the next academic year at Eastern Washington University. The award goes to a students who maintains a 3.8-plus grade point average. She is studying Biology-Pre-Physical Therapy and is involved in the Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Honors Program and is the President of the Lutheran Campus Ministry.

Wargo gets scholarship

LaCrosse senior Christopher Wargo has been named recipient of a $500 scholarhip presented by the Washington Association of Learning Alternatives. Founded in 1975, the assdicaiton is the oldest and largest alternative education association in the United States, according to James Lovejoy of Tacoma, WALA scholarships chair.

Baker show set for library

The Matt Baker Comedy Stunt Show will be at the Colfax Library next Friday, June 17, at 6 p.m. His resume boasts a Guinness World Record, appearances on America’s Got Talent and Last Comic Standing, plus performances in 14 countries and 50 states. Everyone is invited to see Matt Baker in action. This free show is as much vaudeville as it is stand-up comedy.
