Hot rod iron makes stop on Main Street in Palouse

Vintage hot rods of all shapes and sizes lined Main Street in downtown Palouse Saturday for the seventh annual Palouse Hot Rod Show.

Exhibitors this year included several hot rodders from southern Idaho who made the trip north Friday to be part of the show.

One of the feature cars in the show was the hot rod tow truck created by Lionel Garza of Parma, Idaho.

The “Speedy’s Towing” truck features a variety of tow truck adornments, but its towing equipment was fabricated from random parts.

Garza said it has never actually been used as a tow truck, but he once lifted one of his fellow club members’ cars for a photo opportunity.

The show included music from area rock and blues bands and a demonstration performance by the Rolling Hills Derby Dames, lower right.

Three different bands performed for the hot rodders and spectators during the day.
