Swim pool to open; many plan for farm fest

LaCrosse swim pool will open June 15. Hours will be Monday to Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Admission will be $1.50 per day and $1 per night. Season passes are $40 for a family and $20 for an individual.

Water aerobics sessions will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $1 per session. Free adult swim sessions will follow Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7 Both water aerobics and adult swim started June 2.

Swim lessons will be June 20-July 2. The cost is $25 per child. Call Samantha Bafus to sign children up,

Many in the community are gearing up for Farmers Festival, Saturday, July 18. Any child participating in the kiddie parade will be entered into a drawing for a swimming pool.

LaCrosse Community Outreach will sponsor an all-you-can-eat breakfast at Farm Fest Saturday, June 18, from 8 to 10:30 am, at the TeaPot Cafe They will serve hotcakes, sausage and scrambled eggs. All the proceeds go to the Food Bank.

Mudfest is looking for participants and spectators with all proceeds benefitting the Richard Roberts Memorial Scholarship. The cook shack will also be available at the Mudfest.

LaCrosse Community Pride Committee will be available to tour the grocery store and share future plans. They are also sponsoring an auction.

Deadline to purchase tickets for the Dollars for Scholars auction/dinner is June 10. A wide variety of silent and live auction items will be on the bill. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the LaCrosse Bank of Whitman, Startin’s Repair or off of the website: http://www.lacrossedollars.org.

Other activities during the entire day include chalk art, petting zoo, music by Cool Waters, money/prize scramble, free swimming, and kids races.

Vacation Bible School will be June 21-23 beginning at 12:15. Children should bring their own sack lunch each day. To register children call Tawnja Miller or Leanne Bafus.

A new LaCrosse town sign will be installed at Scharpenberg Road, courtesy of the LaCrosse High School ASB.

Tami Olmstead from Walla Walla, spent Memorial Day weekend with her parents, Lois and Chuck Olmstead. Later in the week Lois and Chuck went to Walla Walla to attend an open house at “Face It” where Tami is a hair dresser.
