Despite the poor weather conditions everyone seemed to have a good time at Farmers’ Festival last Saturday.
The kiddie parade had more participants than in recent years and the rest of the parade included a float representing Colombian Carnival, several class reunions, politicians, the DC kids, Special Olympics participants, and many others The Community Club served barbecue sandwiches and the Cool Waters band entertained under the protection of the trees in the park.
Several people gathered at the Community Club for a social hour sponsored the LaCrosse CommunityPride committee as a fundraiser for the store project.
The Dollars for Scholars dinner and auction finished off the day.
The gym was transformed by the decorating committee under the direction of Angela Broeckel and a wonderful meal catered by Nancy Meise.
The event recorded 165 tickets sold and over 100 items up for auction.
Proceeds earned will go directly to future graduates of LaCrosse High School.

Winners of the LaCrosse Community Pride raffle were 6x6 tile, Cooper Jessop, 12x12 tile, Shellie Weller, and the outdoor fireplace was Cheri Garrett.
The Chalk Art winners in the 4 and under age group 1st place Kiefer Smillie, 5-9 years McKenzie Stanley 3rd place, Carlos Candelario 2nd place and 1st place went to Chyanne Weller.
Winners in the 10-15 year old were 3rd place Nicolas Candelario, 2nd place Felix Candelario and Logan Stanley placed 1st, and in the 16 and over category the winners were Kirsten Stubbs in 3rd place, Justin Wargo in 2nd with Chris Wargoplacing 1st.
The annual banquet and awards ceremony of the Washington I n d e p e n d e n t Telecommunications Scholarship Association was recently at Salishan Spa and Golf Resort in Gleneden Beach, Ore.
Cherish Summers, daughter of Ray Summers and Dawn Morris, LaCrosse, was named a scholarship recipient.
She is attending Eastern Washington University and was nominated as a candidate on behalf of Pioneer Telephone Co. of LaCrosse.
