Startins will mark 60th anniversary

A no-gift open house to honor Gayle and Nancy Startin for their 60th anniversary will be Sunday, June 26, from 2 to 5 p.m.

at the LaCrosse Community Club, formerly the Masonic Hall.

Startin and Nancy Vining were married June 24, 1951, in the home of her great aunt and uncle, Charlotte and Ernest Mikkelsen just outside of Waitsburg.

They resided at Hooper for over 50 years and opened Startin’s Repair, a general repair shop, in LaCrosse in 1965.

They operated the shop until 1997 when they sold it to their son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lois Startin.

Nancy was also employed by the McGregor Co., and McGregor Land & Livestock for more than 40 years.

Hosting the open house will be their children and spouses, Chad and Nancy Startin of Diamond, Eric and Lois Startin of LaCrosse, and Tammy and Richard Nolen, Midway, Ky.

The Startins have six grandchildren.
