Auditor hire caps finance overhaul

More than a year of upheaval in Whitman County’s financial leadership was put to an end Monday when Auditor Eunice Coker introduced county leaders to her newly-hired finance director.

David Ledbetter, Jr., a 2007 graduate of Colfax High School, began work Monday after being chosen by a team of county officials from a field of 10 candidates.

“I’m very excited. It’s a unique opportunity to get into this field and to do it here at home,” he said.

Ledbetter graduated in June from Eastern Washington University with degrees in economics and finance.
