Big blasts set to mark nation's birthday

Regular hot stops in Whitman County’s Fourth of July celebration are loaded for action Monday with festivities booked from the early morning hours to the final blast sometime before midnight.

First free public event of the holiday weekend will be Saturday at Boyer Park and Marina.

Fireworks will once again be launched Saturday night beginning at 9:45 p.m. Fireworks watchers can sit in the park, docks or out on boats to witness the display.
