The local option election in this city on Monday last passed off without disturbance, but the ill-feeling engendered by the contest still exists, a monument, figuratively, to commemorate the day on which Colfax was handicapped in the race for commercial supremacy. Saloons closed by mutual consent and our sisters, our cousins, our aunts and the men folks, all came out to vote. Total vote cast, 940: 483 in favor, 457 against.
