Serving Whitman County since 1877
Whitman County Historical Society plans to produce a book on the history of life in the county in the post 1940s area. They hope to represent all areas of the county.
Ed Garretson, Jr., said they are in need of photographs from the 1940s era to the present. The society is in very short supply of photos from this era. Photos of harvests, town festivals, parades, and sports competitions, youth and adult clubs are sought.
Proceeds from the book project will support WCHS projects like the Perkins House in Colfax and the Roy Chatters Printing Museum in Palouse.
Photographs, which will be returned as soon as possible, can be mailed to Box 67, Colfax, or brought to the WCHS archives in Room 103 A at the Gladish Center in Pullman. Hours of operation at the center are Wednesdays from 9 a.m until noon.
