Garth Meyer joins Gazette news staff

Garth Meyer has joined the staff of the Whitman County Gazette as a reporter.

Originally from Richland, Meyer’s background includes sportswriting and advertising copywriting.

After spending four years as a sports reporter for small newspapers in John Day, Molalla and St. Helens, Ore., he went to advertising school in Minneapolis then made his way to New York and Los Angeles.

“New York, L.A., Colfax, a natural progression,” Meyer commented.

A graduate of the University of Oregon, he once sold T-shirts which read, “University of Nike at Eugene.”
