Reyna Swift, daughter of Chet and Ardis Swift of Lamont, and Jared Myers, son of Chuck and Ricki Myer of Salem. Ore., were married in an evening wedding in the garden at the Swift home July 30 at 6 p.m. Approximately 150 relatives and friends attended.
Maid of Honor was Amy Harder, friend of the bride, and bridesmaids were Sarah Zerzen and Amanda McClean, friends of Ardis. Best man was Andrew Reinen, friend of the groom, and groomsmen were Daniel Kolta, also a friend, and Patrick Myer, brother of the groom.
Flower girls were Miranda and Lydia Pfeil, daughters of the bride’s cousin, and ring bearer was Marcus Swift, son of Kiall and Stacy Swift. Readers were Kyall and Stacy, brother and sister-in-law of the bride.
Roger Swift, uncle of the bride, was the officiant. A dinner reception followed the ceremony. The newlyweds left Wednesday after the wedding and flew to Maui, Hawaii, for a honeymoon. The groom is a student at the University of Washington where he is getting certified to teach Special Education, and the bride is a medical student at the University.
Recently, Reyna received a Howard Hughes Fellowship, one of 75 given in the United States. This is one year of research on melanoma cancer. She had previously done one year in a lab on this subject earlier in her medical studies.
