Final day of Colfax Youth Soccer League at JES will be today, Aug. 25, at Jennings Elementary for players in kindergarten to sixth grade. Registration forms may also be picked up and turned in at city hall. For kids registered by Sept. 2, the fee is $20. The fee is $30 for anyone registered after Sept. 2 and before the deadline of Sept. 16.

The season will be six weeks long with games on Saturdays beginning Sept. 24. All games will be at McDonald Park. Organizers seek coaches and referees. For more information, call Eric or Heather Meyer.

Colfax team tops

Hard Hat Classic

A group of Colfax High grads and one CHS student won the annual WSU Alumni Hard Hat Classic golf tournament Aug. 13 at Palouse Ridge in Pullman.

The team of Lars Braun, Eric Weitze, both class of 1980, Caleb Bravard and Tyler Stevenson took first out of 23 teams. The team was sponsored by Brainstorm Rehab of Ellensburg.

In addition, Bravard, a member of 2010 CHS golf team which won the state golf championship, won the longest drive and closest-to-pin contests. Stevenson will be a senior at Colfax High this year. He placed 13th at state for Colfax this spring.

The tournament raised $14,000 for the WSU Facilities Operations scholarship fund.

Rosalia to host

2-day rodeo

A free rodeo will be at the Rosalia Rodeo grounds Friday and Saturday with the Dovers Junior Rodeo and the Rosalia Rodeo Committee joining forces.

Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. members of both organizations will compete in calf roping and team roping.

Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m., Drovers junior rodeo events will begin. A full slate of junior rode events is plannned.

The Rodeo club will operate the cook shack.
