Twelve runners to start Colfax XC season

Coach Jamie Kinley has 12 runners out for the new cross-country season with senior Morgan Willson returning for her third run at the state finals.

Willson won the state race at the Sun Willows golf course in Pasco as a sophomore and placed second last year as a junior to Sierra Speiker, a freshman for Oroville. The two XC finalists hooked up during the spring track season with Willson getting the edge, and that sets the tone for the upcoming year.

Coach Kinley noted the season could also turn up new competitors as the weeks unfold over the fall campaign.
