Fire threatens homes in Hauser Addition

Residents pulled out garden hoses to counter the fire at the top end.

The Colfax city truck and three rural district trucks from the Colfax station responded to the scene. Steptoe and Albion crews in the rural district arrived with tanker trucks.

The fire was stopped short of the big blue reservoir and the radio communications tower which is located uphill from the reservoir. No structures were involved.

Chief Ralph Walter said Tuesday cause of the fire is still under investigation.
