Freeman’s Scotties took Colfax in three games Tuesday to take the steam out of the Bulldog’s’ home opener. The Scotties had solid wins in the first two games and then fought off Colfax in the third game for a match win.
“We just made a lot of mistakes,” Coach Sue Doering said. “They are unforced mistakes like hitting the ball out-of-bounds.”
Line score for the Freeman win was 25-18 25-18 and 27-25.
Pullman, a team which topped Colfax in three straight in Saturday’s jamboree, will return to Colfax tonight for a second non-leaguer.
Pullman dropped Colfax 25-15 in the first game of Saturday’s jamboree. They won the last two 27-25 and 25-22 after net battles.
“Pullman is a young team too, but we just kept making the mistakes, “ Doering said.
Amelie Bruya had 13 assists and three kills against the `hounds, and Sidney Huber had 7 kills. Taylor Larsen had four kills and a block.
Colfax will travel to Lakeside Tuesday for another non-league match.
Colfax defeated Newport in the second jamboree round Saturday, 21-25 25-11 and 25-21. Larsen had 5 kills and 2 blocks against the Griz girls and Skelton put down 5 aces. Bruya had 17 assists, 2 blocks and 4 aces.
