SCOUTS WIN DUTCH OVEN COOKOFF

Colfax Boy Scouts in Troop 595 won the Dutch Oven cooking competition Saturday at the Kamiakin Scout District camporee which was at Camp Grizzly. The scouts baked a hunters’ stew using venison with lots of fresh vegetables. They took possession of a traveling trophy for the honor. Saturday’s win was only the second for Troop 595 in the 23 year history of the event.

Scouts from Colfax Troop 550 also attended the camporee.
