The seventh annual Palouse Basin Water Summit, “The Reality of the Resource,” will be next Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schweitzer Engineering Event Center in Pullman. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Keynote speaker for this year will be Dr. David R. Wunsch, director of science and technology for National Ground Water Association. Wunsch has previously served as a Congressional Science Fellow, most directly with the U.S. House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Re sources, and is currently an associate editor of NGWA’s peer-reviewed journal, Ground Water.
Wunsch was elected to Fellowship in the Geological Society of America in May 2011. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of New Hampshire and the University of Kentucky, and a visiting scholar at Dartmouth College. In 2010, he served as president of the Association of American State Geologists.
Several other state and local groundwater experts will also have presentations featured throughout the evening.
