1. The Allman Brothers. The album version was seven minutes, but it was stretched to 13 minutes on the live “At Fillmore East” double album.

2. 1956, 1957 and 1958, respectively. All were No. 1 hits on the U.S. pop charts, while “Heartbreak Hotel” also made it to the top of the country charts.

3. The Scottish group Average White Band, in 1974. The song went to No. 5 on the R&B charts, too.

4. The Eagles, in 1979, on their “The Long Run” album.

5. Peabo Bryson. He’s won two Grammys, both for movie themes for “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World.”
