Recognizing support staffers
During the first week of October we are recognizing our Material Management department along with Food Services.
Both provide outstanding service each and every day, but we want to especially highlight them this week.
National Healthcare Resource & Materials Management Week is dedicated to celebrating resource and materials management professionals for their outstanding contributions to healthcare and the overall success of the supply chain.
We have a very small team of individuals that help keep our hospital functioning day in and day out.
Their work is vital to the functioning of every department across the hospital – without them we could not provide the high quality, safe patient care here at WHMC. They are very much appreciated and honored this week! National Healthcare Food Service Week theme for this week is served with care, seasoned with compassion! Our food service team at Whitman goes above and beyond each day to meet the needs of our patients, visitors as well as co-workers.
Sound nutrition is important to all individuals, but for the ill it is an essential component in the process of healing and recovery.
The dedicated individuals who work in our hospital food and nutrition department play a very important role in patient care.
Our team has made many changes this year to meet the ever changing needs and demands within healthcare.
One key change is the addition of room service for our patients – patients can order from this menu from 7:00 in the morning until 6:30 at night – getting the foods they want while keeping them within the diet their physician has ordered.
This has been a great addition for our patients! October is also known as the PINK month – education and awareness of early detection for breast cancer.
Again during October we are highlighting early detection and screening for breast cancer.
Staff will be wearing special t-shirts on Fridays to show our support for this important month.
Those who get a mammogram in October will receive a coupon for free lunch on us at our Harvest Home Café as well as some items to support breast cancer awareness.
The best protection is early detection. Schedule your mammogram today!
