A memorial service for Helen Kathleen (Kathy) Baldwin, 66, resident of Potlatch for more than 30 years, will be Saturday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Community Bible Church in Colfax with Paul Baldwin and Milo Salmeier officiating. A family urn burial rite will be at a later date at the cemetery in Kooskia, Idaho.
Mrs. Baldwin died early Thursday morning, Oct. 13, 2011, at her home in Potlatch.
Born Jan. 9, 1945, at Grangeville, Idaho, to Alvis Franklin and Anna M. Mason Newby, she attended schools at Grangeville and graduated from Grangeville High School with the class of 1963.
She married David Allen Baldwin Nov. 23, 1963, at Grangeville and they resided there. Her husband worked as a saw filer and they lived in many communities including Elk City, Idaho; Superior, Mont .; St. Anthony, and Salmon, Idaho. They moved in 1980 to Potlatch where they raised their family.
She was employed as a certified nursing assistant in the same day surgery unit at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow from 1992 until 2007 when she retired.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, crosswords and bargain hunting. Kathy was active in the Potlatch Junior Miss Program for several years and also opened her home to foreign exchange students.
Survivors include her husband, David, Potlatch; four daughters, Margeret (Gary) Horn, Potlatch; Helen Baldwin, Moscow; Tonya (Doug) DeYoung, Colfax, and Ronda (Brad) Backlin, Cobb, Calif .; three sisters, Nancy Cline, Grangeville; Sharon DeBarber, Hamilton, Mont., and Patricia Salmeier, Meridian, Idaho; one brother, Marvin Newby, Greeley, Colo .; 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Myrna Farrow McLean, 70, Rosalia, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, in Spokane, of a sudden illness. Born Feb. 17, 1941, to Thomas and Adele Elizabeth Garner Farrow in Renton, she moved with her family to Twisp when she was eight years old. She took pride in her gardening, her genealogy research and spent endless hours reading. Her genealogy research connected her family to the Daughters of Revolutionary War and Sons of Revolutionary War.
She married Carroll “Mac” McLean March 28, 1991, in Sandpoint. They lived in Twisp and later moved to Rosalia and spent their winters in Yuma, Ariz.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll (Mac) McLean of Rosalia; son, Rodney Paul of Spokane; daughters, Christy Paul of Twisp, Bonnie Clark of Coulee City and Tracy Robertson of Everett; step-children, Steve McLean of Dayton, Sharon Coleman of Davenport, Willa Allison of Post Falls and Coleen Templeton of Brazil; brothers, Tommy Farrow of Twisp and Jimmy Farrow of Rosalia; six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren,
Graveside services for the family were Oct. 15 at the Beaver Creek Cemetery in Twisp with Dick Webb officiating. A reception followed at the Twisp Senior Center.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia/Cancer Society or to the Beaver Creek Cemetery.
Funeral services for Anna M. Million, 57, will be Saturday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. at the Palouse Federated Church with the Rev. Corey Laughary officiating. Burial will follow at the Garfield Cemetery. Mrs. Million died from cancer early Saturday morning Oct. 29, 2011.
Born Nov. 18, 1953, at Renton to Francis J. and Kathryn M. Johnson Byers, she attended schools at Kent.
She married Roger Million Dec. 16, 1978, at Coeur d’Alene, and the couple made their home at Garfield. They purchased the Garfield Union Warehouse hardware store and operated the business for four years. They then purchased McCabe’s Grocery Store in Garfield and operated the business for four years.
Anna was employed at Dissmores IGA in Pullman as a bakery manager where she also worked as a cake decorator from 2000 until due to health reasons she was forced to retire in 2007. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and taking care of her home. She also enjoyed making wedding cakes and birthday cakes.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Million, Garfield; three sons, Jeremey (Suzette) Jackson, Greenbank; Travis (Emily) Million, Copper Center, Alaska; Justin Million, Garfield; two sisters, Kathy Byers, Palouse; Wendy Lear, Portland, and a step-father, Norman Miller, Chewelah.
Memorials can go to the Garfield Cemetery beautification fund in care of Jim Storms, Box 235, Garfield, 99130, or to the Palouse Community Center Building fund, Box 23, Palouse, 99161.
A celebration of life for Gerald L. Phillips, 42, former resident of Steptoe and Colfax, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church which conducts services at the American Legion Building at 301 N. Columbia, Ave. in Connell. A covered dish dinner will follow.
Mr. Phillips died Oct. 19, 2011, at his home in Homedale, Idaho.
Born May 8, 1969, to Jerry and Jeannie Phillips in Walla Walla, he attended grade school in Steptoe until 1978 when the family moved to Cottonwood, Idaho. In 1984 they moved to Colfax, and he graduated from Colfax High School with the class of 1987. He underwent two years of computer training after high school.
Mr. Phillips enjoyed singing and playing guitar in jam sessions with his dad and other family members. He also enjoyed drawing, writing poems and working on his 1967 GTO.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Jeannie and Rodney Nortsedt, Connell; his father and step-mother, Jerry and Linda Phillips, Middleton, Idaho; a brother, Bart Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews.
