Jungle Fever sweeps Tekoa theater

A jungle atmosphere filled Tekoa’s Empire Theater last weekend when local students worked with the Missoula Children’s Theater to stage two showings of “The Jungle Book.”

The two-man traveling show rolled into Tekoa Monday and cast the musical with students from Tekoa. They rehearsed over the week before performing Friday night and Saturday afternoon.

James Heer’s Mowgli holds fire to scare Shere Khan, played by Tanner Madison, who has Jaedyn Norweed’s Hathi the elephant in his clutches. Monkeys Jazmynne Brydahl and Jacob Madison quiver as they are hypnotized by Kaa the snake. Madison’s Khan exudes carnivorous confidence to Tour Actor Adam Ward’s Baloo character. Wolves bare their claws as they prepare to fend off Shere Kahn.
