Colfax City Council Monday night approved a one percent hike in property tax revenues for next year and also approved a hike in the late charge for utility bills to $20.
The council authorized a $3,770 increase in property tax revenue for next year. Total property tax revenue will be $380,812 for 2012. Whether or not the revenue hike authorized by the council will actually mean a hike in the tax levy will depend on the overall tax decisions made by other entities included on tax statements that go to residents in Colfax, according to Assessor Joe Reynolds.
