Pullman names final five

Five finalist candidates have been named for the Pullman Fire Chief’s position which was vacated with the retirement of Chief Patrick Wilkins who served 27 years in the position. Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson said the top five candidates will visit Pullman Dec. 7 for interviews, a luncheon, tour of Pullman and an open house.

The finalists include Michael Heston of Pullman, acting chief and fire operations officer; Scott LaVielle, former chief of the North Highline district in Seattle; Ronald Lindroth, chief at Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Jason Nicholl, medical division manager for South Salt Lake City, and Ronald Pristera, chief in Ashtabula, Ohio.

They were selected for interviews from among an application pool of 12 candidates.
