An arrest for illegal possession of a firearm was made Nov. 18 as the result of a search warrant arrest of a residence along Highway 271 as part of the burglary arrests made last week. Leo D. Woodward was allowed release on his own recognizance after a first appearance in court Nov. 14
According to the arrest report, deputies discovered Woodward residing in a “red barn type” building which was located next to the house occupied by Franklin Hervey.
The officers had received a warrant to search the residence as part of an investigation of alleged burglaries by Hervey at a shop building along the Hume Road.
The report said Woodward told them he had resided at that location since 1992. The arrest report alleges officers located guns where Woodward was residing and a records check indicated he was a convicted felon on a case involving assault.
