face Neah Bay

Almira-Coulee-Hartline, the NE power team which has been charging through the eight-man playoffs, ended the SE state bid Saturday when they stopped Pomeroy, 46-6. The game was stopped with nine minutes left in the third quarter after the Warriors posted a 40-point gap.

Pomeroy was the last SE contender in the playoffs after Touchet and Colton also earned berths in the eight-man grid.

The Pirates finished 10-2. Their only loss on the regular season was a 54-52 trim from Colton in the close SE race.

ACH last week ended Touchet’s state bid with a 52-8 win.

The 13-0 Warriors also claimed a 40-0 shutout over Wellpinit, the north side team which ended the playoff trail for Garfield/Palouse.

ACH will advance to Tacoma where they will face Neah Bay’s Red Devils, a 74-34 winner over Odessa/Harrington in the other Eights semi which was at Moses Lake Saturday.

Neah Bay advanced to the semis after derailing Lummi 58-40 in the quarter-finals. Lummi, which bounced around the top of the state polls at mid season, earlier had pegged a 40-12 win over Neah Bay.

Odessa/Harrington had advanced to the semi round after defeating Cusick, Colton and King’s Way Christian on the playoff trail.
