A Pullman neighbor who called 911 and used an extinguisher on a fire at a neighbor’s residence was credited with preventing what could have been a serious house fire on Pullman’s Sunnyside Hill Sunday. Fire investigator Erik Taylor credited Spencer Clawson with putting out most of the fire with the extinguisher after he called 911 at about 1 p.m.
Nobody was at home at the time of the fire, but firefighters heard dogs barking inside when they arrived on the scene. When firefighters opened the back door of the smoke-filled residence, one of the dogs ran out. They had to help the other dog. Both...
