First Wind offers scholarships to locals

First Wind announced that it has opened the application process for its 2012 scholarship program. Entering its third full year, the First Wind program offers eligible high school students, who reside in communities where the company currently has projects in operation or advanced stages of development, to apply for one-time scholarships of $3,000 and the opportunity for a renewable scholarship of $5,000.

In Washington, the program is open to high school seniors who attend a public or private high school in Garfield, Oakesdale, Rosalia, St. John, Spangle and Tekoa....
