Maltone takes 2 pins at Pomeroy

Daython Maltone picked up two pins in the heavyweight class Tuesday at Pomeroy and Justin King booked a strong performance in defeat against Tory Knebel of Pomeroy.

King and Knebel battled through a close match for all three rounds with Knebel, a dominator in the 170 class, taking a 2-1 win. King also pinned Dalton LaRue of Waitsburg/Prescott in the third round.

Maltone pinned Gabe Miller of Reardan in the second round and Jacob Schmauch of Liberty in the first round.

In the 152 class Brandon Arneson defeated Sal Huitron of LRS 13-2 and was pinned by Kaare Anderson of Reardan in the first round.

Ray Compton debuted in the 182 class and went up against three Reardan wrestlers. He was pinned by Logan Zunker and Ike Martinez, both in the second round and bowed to Phil Simms 1-2 in a close match.

The Bulldogs will wrestle next Wednesdsay in the Pullman invitatoin. Aaron Arneson will be added to the lineup.
