LaCrosse/Washtucna boys capped the pre-holiday season last Wednesday, Dec. 21, with a 51-60 loss to Tri-Cities Prep’s two-man show in Pasco.
Jameson Pederson and Evan Whitesett put up 20 points each for the Jaguars, who used a quick first quarter to stake the lead.
Tigercat Jed Zimmer heated up in the second quarter on his way to a team-high 15 points, but the ‘cats could not close the gap. Alec Fleming chipped in 12 for LW.
The Tigercats are booked at the Dayton tournament Thursday and Friday.
The Spartan Holiday Classic started Wednesday at Rosalia with Asotin, Davenport, and Wilbur/Creston as guests. First day matchups had the Spartans vs. Wilbur/Creston teams and Asotin playing Davenport.
The schedule for today, Thursday, matches the first day winners in a girls championship game at 4 and the boys at 5:30. Consolation games for first-day losers will be at 1 for girls and 2:30 for boys.
Jayvee teams play the same matchups with the order of boys and girls games reversed so swing players from the jayvee can be available for varsity games.
St. John/Endicott has booked Liberty tonight, Thursday, for girls and boys varsity games starting at 5 p.m.
Colton resumes play next Tuesday, Jan. 3, with a trip to Grangeville. Tekoa/Oakesdale and Garfield/Palouse will resume play with the Jan. 6 league round.
