Beginning this month, a representative from Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisor will visit a number of Whitman County Library branch locations to assist residents with Medicare and insurance questions.
SHIBA volunteers provide information and counseling to individuals about health insurance and health care access. They focus on Medicare issues along with other health insurance related issues.
Marie Fowler will be in the St. John library the second Monday of each month from 11 to noon, Endicott Library the second Tuesday from 1 to 2 , Oakesdale Library the second Wednesday from 11 to noon, the Lamont Town Hall the second Wednesday from 4: to 5, the Lacrosse Library the third Monday from 1 to 2 and the Malden Library the third Wednesday of each month from 11 to noon.
Whitman County Library has partnered with Aging and Long Term Care of Eastern Washington to provide this service. Residents are advised to confirm the scheduled visits during the winter weather by calling the SHIBA HelpLine: 509-458-2509 for an appointment.
