Arrest follows Steptoe gun threat

Frank R. Toupal, 61, a resident of Tucson, Ariz., was arrested Friday night at a Spokane hotel after being the object of an area search by Whitman County deputies and area police. Toupal was sought after he allegedly threatened to shoot his ex-wife with a pistol at her home in Steptoe. He is now being held in the Whitman County jail pending a first court appearance Tuesday.
