Tax forms from the IRS are now available from the Colfax branch of Whitman County Library. Copies of IRS forms 1040, 1040 A, and 1040 EZ have arrived. Instruction booklets and a variety of other forms are expected to arrive from now through February.

Library can assist residents in printing out forms with library computers for a fee of 10 cents per page. Residents can also print their own forms or order them from the IRS website:

Gypsy Spirit Belly Dance offers free classes each Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Colfax Library. This basic class is designed to strengthen core muscles and provide basic belly dance skills in an active atmosphere for all ages and all body sizes. Participants learn in the same attire one would wear to Zumba, yoga or aerobics. Instructor Lynn Johnson has been dancing and performing with Rawazi Baten for more than six years under the instruction of the regionally renown Shaheena Safahari

Children in grades 1-4 are invited to “Winter Fun” on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Colfax Library. Jennings Elementary students can ride bus #5 directly to the library with a note from their parent or guardian.

The Whitman County Library Board of Trustees will meet next Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Colfax Library. Library Board meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.

Students 12 to18 are invited to spend the afternoon Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. Teen Librarian Chelsea Leachman will demonstrate how to make wallets with duct tape.

A Prince and Princess Tea Party will be at the Colfax Library Feb. 8 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Children from 3-8 are encouraged to dress for the occasion.

Submissions for the 2012 H’Art of the Palouse banner painting contest are being accepted at the Colfax Library through Feb. 3. Entry forms are available at the library.
