Flooding!

Roads were closed in the northern parts of Whitman County this week, as the heavy snow that fell last week washed off fields into creeks and drainage ditches and over roadways.

The National Weather Service declared a hazardous weather outlook for flooding in the area that lasted from Sunday night through Monday night.

Reports from the Thornton area said more than an inch-and-a-half of rain fell Sunday night.
