Levy ballots coming in, all due February 14

More than 30 percent of voters have mailed in their ballots for the Valentine’s Day election count, Whitman County elections supervisor Debbie Hooper said Tuesday.

Elections worker Cindy Pitts reported 5,119 of the 16,991 ballots mailed to voters had been returned, leaving 11,830 still out.

Deadline for returning the ballots will be next Tuesday, Feb. 14. A first count will also be done that night.

Voters are being asked to approve maintenance and operation proposals in nine school districts: Colfax, Colton, Endicott, Oakesdale, Pullman, Rosalia, St. John, Steptoe and Tekoa. Pullman is also as...
