Serving Whitman County since 1877
A change of season has come to the Colfax Chamber of Commerce.
After 10 years as secretary, Judy Liddle retired in December and Kathy Clark took over.
Liddle retired at the same time as her husband Ron, who hung up the reins at McGregor.
“It was a wonderful, great experience,” said Judy of her years with the Chamber.
“The board’s always been great. But when the time comes, the time comes.”
Clark brings 20 years of experience in escrow from her time raising a family in southern California. She grew up in the Dusty/Lacrosse area and returned four years ago.
The family farm is now run by her aunt and uncle, Keith and Lelia Zaring.
Clark moved south in her early 20s.
“I didn’t want to marry a farmer,” she said with a laugh.
She said she enjoys working with people in her job, and the changes from day to day.
“When you answer the phone you never know who’s gonna be on the line or what they’re going to ask,” she said.
Liddle’s immediate plans in retirement are to spend time with her parents in Caroline, Alberta, Canada, and volunteer at a church camp nearby.
